Illegal construction is going on on the banks of Ganga, responsible department remains a mute spectator

Rishikesh. The district authority in the pilgrim town of Rishikesh has become deaf and dumb. The process of illegal construction is continuing, despite this the responsible officers keep washing their hands off the action by just issuing notices.
The latest case is from Haridwar Road near Auto Vikram Union, where an illegal construction is being done on Aastha Path at a short distance from the Ganga. In the name of taking action, the district authority is content with issuing notices. At the same time, the local people allege that when a common man builds his house, the construction is sealed on the pretext of getting the map approved from the authority. At the same time, when an influential person builds a house, some responsible officers of the district authority protect him and turn a blind eye to the illegal construction without a map for personal gain. In such a situation, the zero tolerance government of Uttarakhand is bound to be tainted.
What do the responsible people say...
MDDA Assistant Engineer Shashank Saxena says that the construction going on on the said land is in the knowledge, the person doing the construction has not yet got the map approved. As per the rules, the said person has been given time to submit the documents by issuing a notice, if the approved map and other necessary documents are not submitted within a week, then sealing action will be taken on the said construction. Now it remains to be seen what action the District Authority takes on the illegal construction going on on Haridwar Road. So that somewhere the general public can trust the action of the government and the responsible department.
The shop built earlier on the said land was demolished by the then HRDA.
Many years ago some shops were constructed on the said land, which were demolished by HRDA after being found illegal. After which the said land remained vacant for many years and now this construction is being started again due to some collusion.
